Project Based Learning and Gardner's Seven Intelligences
Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligences support the concept of Project Based Learning. When students participate in projects, they are given the opportunity to learn through the seven intelligences. During a Project Based Learning experience, teachers don't always have to plan for the seven intelligences more often then not it happens automatically.
The seven Intelligences Include:
Verbal-Linguistic
Logical-Mathematical
Visual-Spatial
Bodily-Kinesthetic
Musical-Rythmic
Intrapersonal
Interpersonal
Gardner add the Naturalist intelligence at a later date.

Examples of Projects and how they included Gardner's Seven Intelligences
Math Around Town was a project completed by 106 sixth grade students. The essential question was: When is the math I'm learning in the classroom used in the world of work? Students made a list of interview questions about math and careers; then they went to local businesses and job shadowed for a day. When they returned to school, students crated iMovies about their experience. This project allowed students to use six of the seven intelligences. The only one that wasn't used interpersonal. In the Monster Mash Project http://trcmonstermash.wikispaces.com/ students created a monster using Tuxpaint; then wrote a description of the monster. The monsters descriptions were placed on a wiki and students were partnered with other students in another school. The students then tried to draw their partner's monster using the description only. At a later time, the original drawings of all the monsters were posted; then students compared their drawing to the original work. As part of the assignments classrooms Skyped with each other. This project used verbal-linguistic, visual-spatial and intrapersonal skills.
